Vitale Barberis Canonico

Sarto Anthony Knight collaboration with Luca Nichetto for Vitale

For BeMyGuest, a showcase event for textile producer Vitale Barberis Canonico, Interior Designer Luca Nichetto created life-size lamps reminiscent of anthropomorphic figures, made of resin and hand-blown glass, produced by the master glass makers of Murano.

Each lamp / mannequin refers to a particular personality which is dressed in unique pieces designed and created by Sarto Anthony Knight using exquisite Vitale Barberis Canonico fabrics. Anthony plays with different sartorial techniques to exalt each textile, from ruching and embroidery to couture hand-finishings. He created and styled both modern and classic garments to suit each personality.

The figures are transformed into a singer, a businessman, a writer, a detective, a university professor, a journalist, an influencer, a politician and a representative of the nobility.

The space takes its inspiration from a tailor’s shop, where hundreds of paper models hang, to then opens into a British-style whisky bar. In this sophisticated environment the anthropomorphic lamps are the patrons of a club where they taste Laphroaig Scotch whisky.

Among other products on display are icons from the Nichetto and Hoffmann collections of the traditional Austrian manufacturers Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten – Andes armchair and sofa, Acacia lamp, Antilles side table and Kubus armchair by Josef Hoffmann – and the La Manufacture collection encompassing Val Lounge chair, Trio coffee table, Olindias bar stool and the Allié table stools, both brands for which Luca Nichetto is the art director.

A unique Steinway & Sons B-211 Spirio Black Masterpiece piano available in just 20 limited edition pieces in all the world will add to the starry lineup. A sophisticated ambience where the humanoid lamps – donning the classic Vitale Barberis Canonico collections created by Sarto Anthony Knight – are morphed into the patrons of a whisky bar.
